Hi folks, a very short post here on a plugin I’ve recently built allowing merchants to accept USDC on Wordpress.
The business case for merchants is simple:
- Credit cards often cost 2–3%, sometimes more
- Ethereum USDC transactions right now cost $0.6
For higher value transactions in particular, it’s cheaper to accept USDC.
What are the problems:
- Customers have to pay for the gas but don’t pay for credit card fees.
The solution is to let merchants pay for the gas fees — stay tuned!
- Gas fees are only low because crypto is low
Yes! But there is a window now and this gives more time for L2s to mature.
